Example of Narative Text



Title        :      “Kuntilanak”
In the forest there was a little family who not yet had any children. They wanted have children. One day, the Husband went to city to look for a job, and when he went for long-long time. He didn’t know that when he left home, his wife was pregnant their first children.
Nine months later, the Wife was gave a birth a beautiful baby and gave the baby named “Putri”. For long time Putri was grow up to be a beautiful girl.
One day Putri felt strange and inquired “Did I have Father? Where is he?”  and finally she hanged to ask about her father to her mother “Mom……Did I have Father? Where is he?” She asked. “Of course my dear, you have father” Mother answered her very full of affection. “But, I never meet him. Where is he?” She asked again, Mother took a breath for a minute and then told Putri about her father.
“My dear…for long time ago when you were not yet born, your father went to look for a job and I think he need long time to did that.”
“Mom, you know where is he now?” Putri asked again, “My dear, since your father left home that day, I never get any information from him and about him.” Mother made face looked very sad when told Putri the truth about her father.
“Mom…I want to meet him, come on we go to find dad!” Putri with big spirit carried her Mother to search her father. “But…I think it is dangerous, impossible!”
“There is no impossible in this world Mom! If we try! You always said that to me, remember?” Putri was cry, Mother was not dare looked at her daughter like that. “Ok my dear, we will go to find your father! But if in a week we don’t find him, we will go home.”
And then, they went to find Father. But, just three day later, they just to reach a middle of the way, they foods and drinks provided was gone. And Putri felt very thirsty, she wanted to drink fresh water. “hmm…if there is a person who bring water and give it to me, I will to make the person to be the one special in my life” She said, but then there a boy over came Putri and he brought fresh water. When He over came he heard what Putri had to say. And then the boy approached Putri and said “here, you can drink my water” Putri very surprise and of course She felt happy and said “thank you sir” when Putri drank the water, she remembered of her promised and She said to her self “oh my God, I must fulfill my promise to this person” And then She asked the boy “who is your name? And do you have wife?”
“oh sorry I forget to introduce my self. My name is Jaka, I’m single. Why you ask me that?” Jaka answered very surprised. “No, I just must fulfill my promise…” Putri said, but then Jaka said “What promise?” Putri took a breath, and tell her promise and then she asked him to come be her husband to fulfill her promised.
Mother very happy with her daughter choice, and then she said “oh my dear, how nice you are! You can fulfill your promise, now let’s go home, and of course take your boy home too.” Finally, they went home together.
When they were come home, mother left Putri and Jaka in living room for provided some foods and drinks, but when she in the kitchen, she heard Putri and Jaka shouted very hysteric. She hurry up went to living room. She was very surprised because she saw a big caterpillar was wriggled in her living room, and she found her daughter and Jaka was loss. “Maybe the Caterpillar has eaten my daughter and Jaka! I must kill it!” Mother said, and she went to take citronella and then she hit the caterpillar stomach used the citronella.
The caterpillar crakcleft to be two parts, Mother very sad when she saw Putri and Jaka was in caterpillar stomach and she found they died. Mother didn’t stop cried because she very loved Putri.
The next morning, Putri and Jaka to grave, their grave was half under the “kemiri” tree. But, Mother still didn’t stop cried, she cried all over the time on Putri’s grave.
A weeks later, people who ever cross at Putri’s grave very sad looked Putri’s mother still cried on the grave. One day, the fruit of the tree was fall down and hit mother head, mother died because that. And then people found her died body, and grave her beside Putri’s grave. However mother was died, people still always heard mother’s cried voice. They believe if mother’s spirit still life on the tree. And they called mother “kuntilanak” that the means was “mother who very loved her children.”
